The Founder Shri A. Velayudham,  M.A,  who is partially  blind with an artificial eye.   It is  an accidental  incident, when he met with an accident, he lost his Vision – Right Eye.   The loss of an eye inspired and encouraged  him to serve honestly  and sincerely for the upliftment of Orphans, Destitutes , Downtroddens , Physically and Mentally Challenged,   Husbands deserted Women, Widows, Unwedded  mothers,  Everleft Oldsters, Street Children,   the groaning patients and Have – Nots who are suffering for Bread,  Attire and Shelter.     He  was Founded the Orphanage  in 1986.   Before the commencement of the orphanage,   he was served in various  departments like – Medical, Corporation, Telephones, R.M.S and Judiciary – at around a lengthy span  of three and a half decades

             He was adorned with  a saintly title “Brahmashri”  Then onwards he is known as            “Brahmashri Velayudham”   It is  in respect   of his Social Service, Selflessness,  Dedication,  Humanity and above all for the Spiritual   Oriented  Monastic Life.  All  are dearly calling him “Appa”           

 The threshold of Seva Chakkara Orphanage was in Empty – Pocket with Five Orphans.  By  the blessings of the Supremebeing and the mercy of Philanthropists, Donors, Well-Wishers and Like-Minded Individuals, since  then the orphanage, gradually and progressively is growing like a banyan  tree.  It is hefty and lofty with the boundless and whole-hearted co-operation of all walks of life.   The catch-word echoes “When You See Orphans – Think of Seva Chakkara Orphanage”   Present  strength  of  the  orphanage is  110, of that as many as 84 students both boys and  girls. We proudly depict how they stand . They are studying from U.K.G. to High School, Higher Secondary School, I.T.I, Nursing, Diploma and College for various Degree Courses including Engineering and M.B.A.
