Seva Chakkara Orphanage blossomed from loss of Vision (Eye) of a Man named
Brahmashri Velayudham the Founder who made a Mission .... One Man Mission
with Vision of Passion and Compassion.
The Orphanage was commenced in 1986. It is a full -fledged Social and
Charitable Organization for the upliftment of orphans, destitutes,
downtrodden, physically and mentally challenged, husbands deserted women,
unwedded mothers, oldsters, bedridden - groaning patients and those who are
suffering for bread, attire and roof.
Besides we are keenly focussing and concentrating on Rural Development
Schemes. Much more actively is working and handling everything credibly in
rural areas in a humanitarian way according to the pulse of needy villageres.
In the span of two decades Seva Chakkara is doing its dedicated charitable
activities for the betterment of have nots. It is our onus to serve the
sufferers.
Seva Chakkara Orphanage has the strength of 110 inmates, of that as many as
84 students both boys and girls are studying from std. K.G. to 10th, +1, +2,
Nursing, l.T.l. and various Degree Courses in different Colleges including
B.L and M.B.A.,The eagle eyed look in education with properly schooled
characterization yields fruitful results. Because
"Knowledge the greatest of wealth". The mamantra echoing for" Sincerely learn
and Honestly earn"
Since inception Seva Chakkara Orphanage is running at rental buildings. Past
a few years the Orphanage has been functioning at the same rental building
No.89/41, Sami Pillai Street, Choolai, Chennai - 600112.
We are optimistic to buy the above said building at a concessive rate because
ours is an orphanage and also we are tenant. At present the building may cost
at least about Rs.
65, 00,000/- (Rupees sixty five lac only)
It is a 3 storeyed buildings, ground floor consists of vehicle shed, a
corridor leads to 3 rooms with a big hall and lavatories. 1st floor having 6
rooms, a big hall and lavatories. 2nd floor with a large hall, 2 rooms, work
area, kitchen and dinning place, And terrace is very spacious for studies and
other activities including prayer.
The orphanage building is nearer to Central Railway Station, Jawaharlal Nehru
Stadium, Chennai Corporation Building (Ripon) Secretariat, Madras Medical
College,General Hospital, Harbour, Reserve Bank of India, Madras University,
Egmore Museum, Marina Beach, Office of the D.G.P., Collectorate, City Police
Commissionerate etc.,
The salient features of Seva Chakkara Orphanage and its marathon charitable
activities of two decades have been briefed here. By and large our
supplication for all walks of life, particularly for collegians of all
colleges. Because the studentry conscientiously involve in the charitable
activities to become themselves the epoch - makers. At this juncture we
heartily solicit you the collegians for your mite framed as Rs. 10/- with
newness, openness and oneness.
